However, modern systems offer many additional quality assurance capabilities. One particularly valuable feature is integrated weight inspection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weight Control Using Existing X-Ray Data<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unlike a conventional checkweigher, product weight is not determined mechanically. Instead, the X-ray system uses the information already generated during the inspection process. After several reference products have been weighed and taught into the system, the software calculates the relationship between the measured X-ray values and the actual product weight. Yogurt trays, for example, can be inspected for underfilled or missing cups. Any deviation from the defined tolerance limits is detected immediately and reported as a quality defect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More Quality Assurance in a Single System<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another advantage is the combination with segmentation functions. This allows individual product areas or components to be evaluated separately. As a result, inspection tasks can be performed that would be difficult or even impossible with a conventional mechanical scale.<\/p>\n<p>This makes an X-ray inspection system much more than a tool for foreign object detection.
